Prof. Dr hab. Tadeusz Włudyka (retired Head of the Chair)

Born in Jelenia Góra in 1953, he completed his studies in 1972-1976 and graduated from Law. Soon after he was employed as a teaching assistant in the Institute of Economy at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Jagiellonian University in which he moved up the ladder of scholarly career. In 1984 he earned his degree of Doctor Iuris (= LL.D.) on the basis of his dissertation: The Policy of Economic Integration of the Countries-Parties to the CMEA. The Significance and Role of Monetary Account Clearing System as Applied Therein. In 1995 — upon the basis of his postdoctoral examination — he was awarded his Doctor Habilitatus in Humanities in the niveau of theory of policy, his habilitation thesis dealing with: The Third Path as Followed in the Realm of Economic Thought of the Second Republic of Poland. In 2003 he has been granted the title of professor in law by the President of the Republic of Poland. In 2005-2008 he served as Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University.

Chairman and member of supervisory boards of several companies listed on stock exchange. Expert at parliamentary commissions.

Main field of interest: relations between legal and economic sciences (including law & economics), legal and economic systems, Polish legal and economic thought in 1918-1939

Scholarships and research stays abroad: Faculty of Economics at Kassel University, Germany (1990-1991), law and economics faculties at universities in Bochum, Heidelberg, Göttingen, Augsburg, Cologne, Lüneburg, Vienna, Salzburg, Bergamo, Grenoble
