Dr Marek Porzycki

Dr Porzycki’s main areas of interest are insolvency law, including international insolvency law, and monetary law, in particular European monetary integration.

During his academic career he participated in the expert group at the Polish Ministry of Justice, drafting both Poland's consumer insolvency law (2014) and the comprehensive insolvency law reform, which entered into force in 2016. In 2012, he took part in the external evaluation of Regulation (EC) No. 1346/2000 on insolvency proceedings (the Vienna-Heidelberg-Luxembourg report) as national reporter for Poland. He has cooperated with the European Central Bank and the National Bank of Poland on legislation and legal issues relevant for central banking and the monetary system.


In 2019-2020 he was involved, in the capacity of an international expert, in the implementation of insolvency law reform in Ukraine.

He authored several publications in insolvency law and taught guest lectures at several foreign universities, including University of Padova, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, International University of Catalonia, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Ivan Franko University of Lviv and University of Sarajevo.

Since 2002 he is active in academic cooperation with Ukraine, as a coordinator of exchange programs and regular guest lecturer.
